A parsnip plant on the North Avenue Bridge this week can cause second-degree burns if touched.
The sap from the plant can create severe burns if you are in contact with it and then exposed to sunlight. The burn can take weeks to heal and can even leave scarring.
Long story short, stay away from these plants!
