It's such a SAD DAY because it's official...this will be the end of the Volkswagen Beetle. After nearly 8 decades, Volkswagen has announced this is the end of the line for the car made in Mexico. I have a heavy heart because I was one of the first people who purchased the reinvented Beetle in 1999-2000. I will never forget how people reacted when they saw me drive up- High fives, waves, hands up against the windows when I got gas. It was such a sign of excitement and enthusiasm for an old friend people had not seen in a while. It was a great run...let's hope in the next 50 years someone finds the technology to bring it back in a modern flying version!! Goodbye old friend.
