A Wisconsin appeals court ruled that drunk mowing carries the same penalties as drunk driving according to AP.
The ruling came this week after a man named Keith Shoeder was arrested for drunk driving in 2017 as he rode his mower through the streets of Rhinelander after leaving a bar. Shoeder appealed his conviction, arguing that a riding mower is an all-terrain vehicle, rather than a motor vehicle, and thus shouldn't be subject to the same penalties.
Unfortunately for him, Wisconsin's Third District Court of Appeals disagreed, upholding a previous ruling from the Oneida County Circuit Court that declared a riding mower is also a motor vehicle.
