Ditka's Restaurant May Close by end of the Year

It looks like Mike Ditka's longtime Chicago restaurant may be closing by the end of the year.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Ditka's lease is over at the end of 2019 and parties have not agreed to an extension.

Apparently, a private equity firm bought the Tremont Hotel in 2018 and plan a multimillion-dollar renovation.

Mike Ditka told the Sun-Times, “It was unexpected. They sort of hit us by surprise,” he said. “But it’s over. Done. I’m disappointed. We were there a long time. But I’ve learned nothing is forever."

Ditka is working hard to find a new location for the place. Although after 22 years, it will be hard to find a location that matches the history of the previous place!
