On Sunday afternoon in Illinois, a semi carrying a herd of 113 cattle plowed into a median and overturned, sending its bovine load into the road. Highway 72 was then closed for more than five hours as police and other personnel corralled the cattle.
Unfortunately, The Herald & Review reports that more than one animal was killed in the accident, and that the truck driver was ticketed for improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
What a mess!
