The Chicago Teachers Union voted to approve a tentative agreement with city officials Wednesday but refused to end a strike that has canceled two weeks of classes until there are make up days scheduled.
The new contract includes a 16% pay raise of the next 5 years, adding a nurse and social worker in every school and $35 million to reduce class sizes.
Hopefully they can come to an agreement on these makeup days. Without them, the teachers won't get paid for the 2 weeks of missed classes.
