Indiana Woman Strangled to Death by Python

This is horrible.

On Wednesday in Oxford, Indiana, Laura Hurst was found dead with an eight-foot-long python around her neck.

But here's where the story gets even weirder: Hurst was a snake lover who had over 140 of the reptiles in her home--which is owned by Benton County Sheriff Donald Munson, a snake aficionado himself. Munson, who lives next door, described Hurst's death as a "tragic accident with a loss of human" life and tells The Journal & Courier that he's cooperating with police investigators.

Meanwhile, Hurst's attorney told the newspaper. "She had a real passion for snakes." Indeed, she loved them to death.
