1970s video-game giant Atari announced that it plans to open a chain of branded, video game-themed hotels. The company's scheduled to start construction on the first one this fall in Phoenix.
The company behind classic gaming titles like "Asteroids" and "Centipede" says the hotels will offer virtual reality and augmented reality, studios for streaming games and venues for throwing e-sports events. GSD Group CEO Shelly Murphy described spaces set up with many gaming consoles where parents can host parties for kids, and said they plan to keep the hotels reasonably priced, with the option for more amenities.
The brand plans to add hotels in Las Vegas, Denver, Chicago, Austin, Seattle, San Francisco, and San Jose.
Can't wait!
