Idaho resident and serial Guinness World Record holder David Rush was at it again this week, setting a new record for getting hit in the face with a wet sponge: he did it 43 times in 30 seconds.
Rush attempted the record on the street in front of his house in Boise while practicing social distancing. A friend Jonathan Hannon hurled 54 wet sponges at Rush's face during the attempt, with 11 misses, but enough connections break the old mark of 36.
Rush already has more than 100 Guinness Records to his credit, which he does to promote STEM education. Rush said safety was paramount during the attempt: "There is also no evidence that COVID-19 has ever been spread by a thrown wet sponge," he said.
