- Quaker Oats will phase out its famed Aunt Jemima brand in the name of racial progress.
- "We recognize Aunt Jemima’s origins are based on a racial stereotype. As we work to make progress toward racial equality, we must ensure our brands reflect our values," the company said in a statement.
- The 130-year-old brand is based off a song called "Old Aunt Jemima" from a minstrel show performer that was reportedly sung by slaves.
- A new logo and name for the breakfast brand sometime this fall.
