Minnesota Pumpkin Named 'Largest Grown in North America'

A horticulture teacher from Anoka, Minnesota has won the World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off after growing a monstrous 2,350-pound gourd! This type of gigantic pumpkin, with seeds the size of peach pits, can reportedly gain as much as 50 pounds per day!

This pumpkin is now considered "the largest grown in North America", but was 274-pounds shy of being crowned "the largest grown in the world."

The contest is paying him $7 for every pound of pumpkin. That's $16,450!
