Great Apes at San Diego Zoo Get Animal Version of Covid Vaccine

  • The San Diego Zoo is vaccinating its ape population - a move it says will help protect both animals and people.

  • The vaccine is a special animal version developed by a company called Zoetis, originally designed for use by cats and dogs.
  • The Zoo has also vaccinated its staff - with human vaccine, of course - and has them undergo daily COVID screenings.
