Get ready Chicago for the sounds of classical music flowing through Orchestra Hall for the first time in over a year. Starting May 27th, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra will be performing in person. A Series of concerts are being created in conjunction with maestro Riccardo Muti and will feature music for brass, percussion, string ensembles, and orchestra. The concerts will be presented with adherence to current state and city COVID-19 guidelines for public events.
Musicians will also be following social distancing guidelines which will reduce orchestra to 45 musicians on stage, with some concerts featuring smaller CSO ensembles. Performances will take place over 3 consecutive weekends starting on Thursdays and ending on Sundays.
