Paul McCartney “Duets” With John Lennon to Start His Tour

Paul McCartney kicked off his “Got Back” Tour in Spokane, Washington over the weekend, and surprised fans with a “duet” with his late Beatles bandmate John Lennon.

As footage from Peter Jackson’s documentary “The Beatles: Get Back,” played on screens behind him, Paul performed the Beatles classic “I Got A Feeling” with John, using John’s isolated vocals from the film.

Paul tells "Rolling Stone" that it was Jackson’s idea for the duet, texting him, “We can extract John’s voice, and he can sing with you,” to which the Beatle replied. “Oh, yeah!”

Paul also paid tribute to his other late bandmate, George Harrison, using a ukulele George gave him to play “Something.” Check out footage of the McCartney/Lennon performance below.

A few songs later, McCartney paid tribute to Harrison, playing Harrison’s “Something” on a ukulele that had been a gift from him.
