10-Year-Old Twins Rescue Dad From Drowning

An Alabama man discovered that two heads really are better than one when he was saved from drowning by his twin sons.

Brad Hassig says he was in his home swimming pool last month, doing meditation exercises when he suddenly passed out. "I like to do just some calming, breathing exercises in the waters, which entails just sitting underwater," Hassig says. "I was saying the Lord's Prayer. And I just, I don't ever remember finishing it." That's when Hassig's 10-year-old twins, Bridon and Christian, sprung into action, dragging their dad to the side of the pool and began administering CPR -- a life-saving measure they learned from watching the movie "The Sandlot."

The boys' effort proved to be successful as Hassig regained consciousness. "I hear the boys saying, you know, 'Daddy, come back!' and 'Daddy, you have to be OK!'" he says. "They weigh -- what? -- 80-some pounds around there, and I weigh 185 pounds. So they shouldn't have been able to physically do what they did. I mean everything just went as perfectly as it probably had to have."
