Central Camera is back open!

2 years ago a Chicago institution burnt down during the unrest in the city. Now the over 100-year-old Central Camera has opened back up in its original location.

After the fire, Chicagoans rallied around Central Camera’s staff, donating nearly 230 thousand dollars to a go-fund-me campaign organized by owner Don Flesch and his daughter.

They eventually moved the shop to a temporary space next door. The store is like a museum of the history of photography, having first, second, third, and even fourth generation customers. Central Camera is located at 230 S Wabash and is open Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

So if you want to know more about some Chicago history, a photography hobbyist, or just want to see a legendary shop, head on over to the main article here.
