Sonya Eddy, from General Hospital, passed away at the age of 55, according to people close to her.
Reportedly, Sonya suffered a horrible infection following a recent surgery that she had in early December.
Octavia Spencer, who is a close friend and colleague of Eddy, said, "The world lost another creative angel."
After doctors had a hard time fighting her infection, Eddy was placed on life support and died on Monday night.
