On Wednesday, the World Health Organization said coronavirus Omicron strain XBB.1.5 has become the dominant strain in the United States. XBB.1.5 went from four percent to forty percent of cases in a few weeks. Health officials won't speculate if the new strain will cause more hospitalizations or fatalities as only time will tell.
