Woman sues hotel after three-night affair leaves her pregnant

A German woman is suing a hotel after giving birth to a boy conceived during a three-day fling with a fellow guest on the property.

The Telegraph reports that the woman, who has not been named, gave birth to a son back in 2010 and wanted to track down the father. However, all she knew about the mystery man was that his first name was Michael.

When she called the hotel in Halle, Germany, the staff refused to identify the man because their guests' information is confidential. The woman responded by taking the hotel to court and arguing that it had a duty to reveal the information because a child was involved.

Unfortunately for the mother, the court ruled that there wasn't enough certainty surrounding the identity of the guest to breach privacy. Why? Because there were four men staying at the hotel at the time of her stay with the first name Michael. The court also added that it was possible the woman didn't even have the man's correct name. Travel + Leisure notes that Germany has some of the strictest privacy laws in Europe.
