Self Driving Shuttle Debuts In Vegas, Crashes

f you're dreaming of a driverless future, dream on! On Wednesday, a self-driving shuttle that debuted in downtown Las Vegas managed to go almost a full hour before becoming involved in its first fender-bender. News 3 reports that the shuttle collided with a delivery truck within its first hour of service and less than two hours after it was lauded in an official unveiling ceremony.

"The autonomous shuttle was testing today when it was grazed by a delivery truck downtown," a city rep said in a statement. "The shuttle did was it was supposed to do, in that its sensors registered the truck and the shuttle stopped to avoid the accident. Unfortunately, the delivery truck did not stop and grazed the front fender of the shuttle." Nobody was injured in the accident, but the truck driver was cited over the incident.
