An American Idol hopeful who had his first kiss stolen by Katy Perry during auditions says he’s “uncomfortable” that the pop star decided to catch him off guard, but doesn't consider the smooch to have been harassment.
“I know a lot of guys would be like, ‘Heck yeah!’” 19-year-old Benjamin Glaze tells The New York Times. “But for me, I was raised in a conservative family and I was uncomfortable immediately. I wanted my first kiss to be special.”
Ahead of his performance of “Levels” by Nick Jonas, Glaze revealed that he’d never been kissed; the “I Kissed a Girl” singer responded by asking for a kiss on the cheek--but surprised him with a smack on the lips. On Instagram Wednesday, Glaze made it clear that he didn't think Perry sexually harassed him.
