Uber self-driving car dash camera video released -deadly crash

Late Tuesday, police in Tempe, Arizona, released interior and exterior footage of the self-driving Uber crash that killed a woman walking her bicycle across a highway at night. A safety driver, Rafaela Vasquez, appears to be looking down--at her phone, perhaps?--as the vehicle struck Elaine Herzberg.

Her face is then frozen in horror, clearly realizing that, as The Washington Postputs it, "Neither car nor driver reacted in a way that might have saved Herzberg."

The Tempe Police Department's vehicular crimes unit is currently reviewing the incident. Meanwhile, while the victim was apparently jaywalking, several experts tell FOX News that the car's technology should have brought it to a halt prior to contact, while Vasquez was too confident in the car's ability to drive itself.
