Metra is buying hundreds of new rail cars and they want you to let them know what you would like inside them. Through mid January, Metra is having a survey to see what amenities all the cars should have. These range from cup holders, to power outlets, tray tables, or even WIFI.
The expected amount of rail cars to be purchased is around 200 to 300 with possible increased capacity, and the chance of them having pretty good amenities is high considering they have about 1.2 billion dollars to spend.
So if you take the Metra every day or often enough to know which cars have the best power outlets, you can head over to Metra's website to give your input!
