A couple of days ago, the Adler Planetarium got a new state of the art telescope. This new telescope has a 24 inch mirror and high tech sophisticated cameras which will be able to take pictures of far away galaxies, nebulae, and stars like never before at the planetarium.
What is interesting about the whole installation is that it was a lot cheaper to do than it was back in 1987 when they last installed a telescope. The folks over at the planetarium are hoping to have the whole telescope online by July of this year, when all seven planets will be visible in the sky at the same time.
