Chicago Foundation for Women (CFW) invests in women and girls as catalysts, building strong communities for all. CFW funds organizations working to solve the biggest problems facing women and girls: economic insecurity, violence, and lack of access to health care and information. Last year, CFW invested $2.8 million in 117 organizations, leveraging the generosity of 2,700 donors, impacting 70,000 women and girls in our region. In addition to grant making, CFW invests in developing women leaders and advocates, and brings together diverse coalitions to collaborate, share resources and develop solutions.

Inspiration 1390 - Beacon Light Ministries
Beacon Light Ministry is located in the Roseland community on the south side of Chicago. It was established 2004 under the leadership of Bishop Jerome Powell Sr. Beacon Light has been dedicated to serving the community and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. On January 20, 2020 the church suffered a devastating fire that wiped out the church and its food pantry.

Girls on the Run inspires girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind. Trained coaches lead small teams through our research-based curricula which includes dynamic discussions, activities and running games.
Over the course of the ten-week program, girls in 3rd-8th grade develop essential skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health and fitness.
The program culminates with girls positively impacting their communities through a service project and being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K event.

BUILD (Broader Urban Involvement & Leadership Development) is one of Chicago's leading gang intervention, violence prevention, and youth development organizations. Our mission is to engage at-risk youth in schools and on the streets to help them realize their potential and contribute to our communities.
BUILD focus on hard-to-serve youth in some of Chicago’s most challenging neighborhoods. Since 1969, BUILD has helped thousands of at-risk youth escape gangs and violence to become positive leaders of their communities.
BUILD focus on young people who face the steepest obstacles, and provide a broad range of mentoring, support services, and growth opportunities to help them reach their full potential.
BUILD serves challenged but resilient communities on Chicago’s West and South Sides, including Austin, Garfield Park, Humboldt Park, Hermosa, Belmont Cragin, and Fuller Park.
