The world's most famous maker of hockey gear (Bauer) is transitioning to making medical gear during the worldwide coronavirus outbreak. Bauer's taken orders for more than 100,000 medical shields it will produce in Quebec for use throughout Canada and possibly the U.S. A Bauer facility that makes lacrosse equipment in upstate New York is also planning to transition to medical equipment. The company does not expect to make any profit on the new endeavor.
