Illinois Teen Arrested After Killing 2 at Jacob Blake Protest in Kenosha

A 17-year-old who allegedly shot three protestors in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on Tuesday night--killing two of them--has been arrested and charged with first-degree homicide.

Kyle Rittenhouse was arrested in Antioch and is set to appear in court for an extradition hearing later this week. Witnesses reported seeing a "vigilante" white man with a long gun open fire as locals protested the police shooting of unarmed Black man Jacob Blake, who took several bullets to the back this past Sunday and may wind up paralyzed from the waist down.

At least one of the two people Rittenhouse allegedly killed was also a white male; a third victim who was shot sustained non-life threatening injuries. Video of Rittenhouse purportedly shows protestors trying to chase and subdue him, but when police began to swarm the area, he held his hands up in the air and authorities passed right by--even as the crowd screamed that he was the shooter.
