Salvation Army Starting its Red Kettles Early This Year

The salvation army has always been a staple here in Chicago. Every year around Christmas time they come out with the red kettles to get donations for the holiday season.

Well, for the first time in the organization's 135 year history, the salvation army has announced that they will be having the Red Kettle fundraising campaign early this year. A couple days back, the Salvation Army announced that they would be launching their Campaign “Rescue Christmas”, beginning their annual fundraising 2 months earlier than they usually would. This is being done to meet the unprecedented need for donations since there has been a five fold increase in need this year in general.

The red kettles wont hit the streets until November, but the salvation army is still asking for donations online now. If you are interested in some early donations or want to know more about the salvation army's early fundraising, click here to see the full story.
