Here is some sad news Chicago. For the first time in a very long time, Brookfield Zoo and Lincoln Park zoo will be shutting down for the next two months. Now while there are only going to be closed till the end of march, it really shows you the financial damage that has been don't to even our most beloved of institutions.
Both Zoos have been closed for a couple of weeks now, but there is still a chance for you to go and visit the zoo. Throughout the hibernation, Lincoln Park is offering two members only weekends. The weekends are the weekend of January 9th and February the 27th. This gives you a chance to go visit the zoo despite it being closed, while at the same time helping the zoo by getting a membership and making sure it can open for the public later in the year.
On the other hand, Brookfield Zoo is offering up tours and informational videos on YouTube. If you want to know more about how you can help our local zoos and what their hibernation schedule is looking like, head on over to the main article here.
