Chicago Local Helps Community by Selling Hand Made Shirts

It always amazes me the amount of people in the city who go out of their way to help their communities. One of these Chicagoans is Scott Marvel, who for years has been making screen printed Shirts out of his North Side Home.

A couple of years ago he ran into a homeless man at his local Starbucks who told Marvel that he was going to a job interview. In trying to help him out, Marvel gave the man a bunch of new shirts so he could have a clean shirt when he went to the interview. He then started to make extra shirts on weekends and hand them out on Mondays.

A Couple years later he decided to ask business friends how he couple really turn it into something, that is when he got in touch with Streetwise and created Give a Shirt. Now you can buy a handmade, Local Musician Designed, screen printed T Shirt, through Give a Shirt and all the profits will go towards Streetwise.

To put it in perspective, since 2015, over 160 Thousand dollars has been donated. So, if you’re looking to get a new shirt, a gift, or a way to help your community head on over to the main article here . Thank you, Scott, for finding a way to take your passion and turn it into a creative way to help your community.
