Over on the south side, a local barber has turned a good deed into a buzz among city residents. On any day, over on 63rd near Halsted in the neighborhood of Englewood, David McDonald hangs out with a barber chair and clippers.
There McDonald welcomes anyone in need of a haircut and spiritual guidance to sit in his chair, for free. McDonald has told local news that he had left a successful barbershop in West Palm Beach, Florida, and moved to Chicago to help out the community. Mcdonald says that “My heart is to help where other people may not want to venture into”.
McDonald also posts his barbershop sessions on Facebook Live, offering guidance and encouraging words while cutting hair.
If you want to know more about David and his great acts of giving back to a community, head on over to the main article here. Thank you so much David for coming to Chicago and spreading kindness and love.
