Get ready Chicago, here is a rare reason to head on over to one of our great cultural institutions. From June 18th until August 15th, the Art Institute will be housing the portraits of both President Barack Obama and Former First Lady Michelle Obama.
This will mark the first stop on a nationwide tour for the portraits, with its significance of the Art Institute not only being a frequent place Michelle Obamas family would visit as a child, but also the site of the couple’s first date. After the Institute, the portraits will make their way to Brooklyn, Los Angeles, and many other major cities.
