Get ready Chicago, a new Metra station might be popping up in one of the Cities fastest growing neighborhoods.
Over in Fulton Market a new Metra station is being planned on the opposite side of Ogden Avenue between two sets of Union Pacific tracks. The planning came after the announcement of a 19-story science development that is being built with a pedestrian gateway along a vacated stretch of Kinzie Street to connect to the future station.
The new station will be beneficial for the area considering more offices are being constructed which will bring more traffic into the area. The station plans are still being finalized, so it might be a couple years before we start seeing construction, but it is still a good sign for a once empty warehouse area of the city.
