We know this to be fact Chicago, but we have some really iconic food here, and the Reader Chicago has finally put all the iconic food together. A Couple weeks ago the Reader Chicago put out the Iconic Chicago Restaurant Map.
This map notes one historically iconic restaurant from each of Chicago's 77 officially designated community areas. The criteria for being on the map are: the restaurant needs to be at least older than 20 years, it has to be non-expensive, and has to have an overall excellent eating spot. Some of the restaurants include the Billy Goat Tavern in River North, Lula Cafe in Logan Square, and Valois Cafeteria in Hyde Park.
