Chicago Warming Centers are Open.

With winter at our doorstep and even colder weather coming towards us in the coming weeks, the city of Chicago has put out a list of local warming areas for those who are stuck out in the cold and need safe refuge and relief from extreme cold weather.

Open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday; these locations include the Englewood Community Service Center, Garfield Community Service Center, the North Area Community Service Center, and 3 others around the city. In specific situations, city-operated libraries and park facilities may also activate warming areas.

If you need assistance after hours, you should call 311 to be connected to an available service that can help with placement to an available bed and shelter.

If you want to know more about the warming areas around the city, head here for cities website. And if you happen to have a neighbor you know who might have a hard time when it gets colder, please help them out in any way you can to make sure that they stay safe and warm during this winter. W
