If you have been to the north side around where the CTA is modernizing the El tracks, you may have noticed that the tracks look alot more concrete than the 100 year old Iron tracks, you may have also noticed the concrete slabs along the tracks.
These concrete slabs are something that most Chicagoans wouldn’t even consider when thinking about the CTA, sound barriers.
Yes! Finally the CTA will be installing sound barriers to make the passing train car much quieter to the surrounding neighborhoods.
