The City is Helping Artists by Asking them to Make Public Art

Attention all aspiring and established artists in Chicago, the city is looking for you to help out with their ambitious public art commissions. A couple of days ago, the city opened applications for artists to commission a series of ambitious public art projects with 750 thousand dollars in funding.

This new funding is part of the newly created Artists Response Program which has been made by the city to help respond to the coronavirus pandemic and its effect on artists in the city. The plan so far is to split 5 hundred thousand dollars to go to 10 large art projects, while 250 thousand dollars will be set aside to be used in smaller, more local projects.

Applications will close at 5 P.M. on February the 5th, so if you want to apply to get your art funded by the city, head on over to the main article here. Stay creative Chicago!
