Dan Levy is opening up about the "collective loss" of his friend and Schitt's Creek costar Catherine O'Hara.

During a Tuesday (March 31) appearance on The Tonight Show, Levy explained to host Jimmy Fallon that he has found "great comfort" in the outpouring of love sent O'Hara's way from fans and friends alike following her unexpected death earlier this year, per People.

"Listen, it's like a collective loss, I think. She was the greatest. She's irreplaceable," he said. "The great comfort for me has just been to see how loved she was, you know what I mean? The outpouring. Everyone felt like they kind of knew her."

After Fallon described O'Hara as "one of the funniest comedians [he's] ever seen" with incredible character work, Levy gushed that his late friend and TV mom was "unbelievably talented at improvising" and "one of the great, great, great, great queens."

O'Hara, also known for her roles in Home Alone, Beetlejuice and Best in Show, passed away January 30 at 71 following a brief illness, with her cause of death later being determined as pulmonary embolism. Tributes poured out after news of her death, including a heartbreaking post from her on-screen son Macaulay Culkin and longtime friend Michael Keaton. Her The Studio costar Seth Rogen also shared an emotional tribute at the 2026 Actor Awards while accepting her posthumous award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series.

"If you have people in your lives that don't know her work... show them O'Hara dancing to Harry Belafonte in Beetlejuice. Show them O'Hara hurting her knee in Best in Show and doing that amazing thing where she hobbles around," he said. "And tell the people, as they are laughing, that that's Catherine O'Hara, and we were lucky that we got to live in a world where she so generously shared her talents with us."
