Well this is kind of cool (and makes sense)! Sports Illustrated is going to start producing movies and tv shows. They have their first project in the works and it's called "Covers" which will look behind the scenes at some of the magazine's iconic cover shoots. They have been in creative production meetings to discuss other ideas for documentaries and shows. “It can be films, scripted series shows,” said 101 Studios CEO David Glasser (the merged company in charge of production). “We didn’t realize how much sports-related content we had already been working on until we dug deeper." With the success of the ESPN Docuseries "The Last Dance" about Michael Jordan's career this seems like a pretty smart move.
