- Nine dogs are being successfully trained to sniff for coronavirus by researchers from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine.
- "Everything they have been built to do, is through their noses," says researcher Cindy Otto.
- The dogs are being trained on urine, saliva and sebum, so that both symptomatic and asymptomatic detection is possible.
- “People love the idea of dogs doing things, and they are mistrustful of scientists,” researcher Perdita Barran said. So far, training has been going very well.
