The Wall Street Journal reports that short shorts on guys are back in style--and TikTok is to thank (blame?) for their resurgence. Previously favored by guys like Utah Jazz point guard John Stockton and Grateful Dead guitarist Bob Weir, who was fond of Daisy Dukes, short shorts have become all the rage due to TikTok videos with the hashtag #5inchseam (short for five-inch inseam), which have been viewed over 24 million times. In one popular video, a woman says, "Seven- or eight-inch inseam shorts are gross, but you get the five, five-and-a half-[inch] shorts and you are good looking.” Josh Benson, a 24-year-old financial advisor from Texas, went out and purchased a pair of short shorts with a five-inch inseam, and has noticed more women are checking him out!
