- Domino's is delivering pizzas to one Houston neighborhood this week - and not a single person is driving the delivery car.
- The pizza maker has teamed up with self-driving delivery company Nuro to deliver pies via robot out of Domino's Woodland Heights store in Houston.
- Nuro's R2 robot, autonomous and without a driver, will deliver the pizzas to select customers who prepaid for their pies on Domino's app. Customers can track their pizza bot via GPS through the app, too.
- Once R2 meets up with the customer, they enter their pizza pin number on the robot's touchscreen, opening the bot's doors and revealing their order.
- If you're wondering if this is legit; the government has given this delivery bot the green light. Nuro's R2 is the first completely autonomous, occupantless on-road delivery vehicle approved by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
