- University Hospitals' Cleveland Medical Center is apologizing and two caregivers are on leave after a kidney intended for one patient was transplanted into the wrong person.
- Thankfully, the kidney is compatible with the person who got it so there have been no issues; it doesn't mean that a much-needed kidney transplant intended for one patient is now delayed.
- A hospital spokesperson released a statement that read: “We have offered our sincerest apologies to these patients and their families. We recognize they entrusted us with their care. The situation is entirely inconsistent with our commitment to helping patients return to health and live life to the fullest."
