- Make sure you look up at the evening sky tonight (Monday, September 20th) to catch a glimpse of one of the most beautiful full moons of 2021, the Harvest Moon.
- The moon will rise at 7:13 pm and will show off its full glory at 7:55 pm if you're in the northeast.
- The Harvest Moon will be full through Wednesday, marking the Autumn equinox, which this year, is also the first day of Fall!
- Space.com even created a drink for the occasion. Rim a glass with graham crackers, add some ice, pour in a half-ounce of apple brandy, a splash of Fireball, and top with apple cider for your very own Harvest Moon cocktail.
- The Old Farmer's Almanac says the Harvest Moon got it's name from farmers who used its bright light to harvest their last bit of summer crops. It's also known as the Corn Moon, the Barley Moon and Fruit Moon.
- If you happen to miss this week's full Harvest Moon, your next full moon comes October 20th - called the Hunter's Moon.
