The family of the SWEETEST 3-year-old boy from Downers Grove had the simplest request. CARDS FOR COLE. He turned 3 this week (November 1st) and because Cole Magnus is battling acute lymphoid leukemia he wasn't able to have a traditional birthday party with lots of kids. His mom Brittany told me they need to be careful to protect his very weak immune system so he can continue his brave battle agains the disease. So, the family thought it would be amazing to flood Cole with cards to read and enjoy on his birthday. Cole is being treated by the incredible physicians and staff at Lurie Children's Hospital here in Chicago, so we know he's getting the best treatment in the world. SO FAR...over 3,200 cards have ARRIVED! It's a beautiful display of kindness and humanity and means the world to this family. Brittany said it's impossible to open them slowly, because they bring so much joy.
You can STILL Send one! There's a PO Box where you can not only send the cards, but it automatically counts them giving great joy to see the numbers pile up. Each one symbolizing love, hope and prayers for quite a special little guy.
