- A North Carolina woman is fighting her state’s DMV over her car’s vanity plate which reads “FART”.
- Karly Sindy couldn’t believe her vanity plate request got approved last October. But after riding around with her “FART” plate on the back of her truck for months, she got a letter from the DMV stating that her plate had gotten some complaints.
- After telling her that she could only keep the plate if she wrote a letter explaining what “FART” meant to her and why she should keep the plate, Sindy started the Friends of Asheville Recreational Trails.
- After setting up a mailing list and website, 15 people showed up to the first “FART” meeting.
- Sindy has sent her letter to the DMV defending her “FART” but has yet to receive its response.
