- A recent study found that wearing a blue medical face mask can make men look more attractive.
- Cardiff University's School of Psychology gathered a group of women to rank men on their attractiveness in a series of pictures. Each man was seen maskless, wearing a cloth mask, wearing a blue medical-grade face mask, and holding a notebook covering the lower half of the face.
- The women ranked the pics of the men wearing blue medical face masks as the most attractive... but why? One researcher explained, "Some of this effect may be a result of being able to hide undesirable features in the lower part of the face—but this effect was present for both less attractive and more attractive people."
- "A blue medical face mask could also imply its wearers are in caring or medical professions and a time when we feel vulnerable, we may find them reassuring and so feel more positive towards the wearer", researchers added.
