  • 61% of Americans polled say that someone notices their car issues before they do.
  • 55% said their partner notices their car issues first, followed by a parent at 47% or a mechanic at 29%.
  • The study also found that car repair neglect can be broken down geographically. In the midwest, drivers are most likely to neglect their windshield wipers. Drivers in the northeast don't change their brakes as they should and those in the southeast ignore their battery's performance warning.
  • Since April is National Car Care Month, experts say now is a good time to "test your battery to make sure it hasn’t lost any power, and inspect your entire vehicle, including windshield wipers, brakes and tires, for any post-winter damage."
