- Afraid to fly? You're not alone. 25 million Americans have aerophobia or a fear of flying.
- The Cleveland Clinic's Dr. Miller says in order to beat flying anxiety, try to visualize every moment of your flight.
- Dr. Miller suggests "Try to visualize in detail every step of the journey, from driving to the airport to going through security, getting on the plane, and taking off" while using relaxation techniques like deep breathing. "Go over each step multiple times in this way, and by the time you actually get to the day of the flight, it will be as if you have successfully flown many many times, and the anxiety will no longer be there."
- The Cleveland Clinics also suggests taking "baby flights", or smaller flights, to get used to flying.
