A family in Minnesota saw a lost puppy on the side of the road. They felt awful and compelled to assist. It was only when they took him home that they realized they mistakenly identified him as a dog. They called local wildlife authorities for assistance and thankfully the Department of Public Health determined that the coyote pup had not been exposed to rabies. He is now vaccinated against the deadly disease, recovering well, and will be introduced to a foster sibling coyote from Rhode Island
